Artist's Comments

This was my Valentine’s Day present to Jenna. The title "Our Night" pretty much tells you what it's about. ^^

This is my first completed work since I have changed majors and strayed away from art.

The medium is charcoal pencil.

I'm sure this has way more meaning to you and Jenna. I can only piece together small fragments from the clues you've left behind. Beautiful job. I think I grasp most of it...

wow, this perspective would have scared me off, but you pulled it off really nice.

everything seems to be converging in the right places. the shading is nice, especially on the candles.

Thanks man. That was kind of a worry I had in sharing this. Obviously I would hope it should be more special to Jenna than others, but at the same I think specific art can reach out to others as well.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks a bunch PJ. Obviously your opinion means a lot to me. The positioning of the sticks I felt was the most successful part. I worked diligently to acquire the right perspective that was dynamic enough, so I appreciate that you noticed that. :)

I hate using charcoal myself, but this is pretty good. I like the visual aspect of the music. A nice, unique touch that you don't really see in expressive pieces.
